Recoil is the force that affects player control of a weapon when firing. Every shot will cause the muzzle of their weapon to rise and sway, throwing off the player's aim. Controlling and counteracting recoil is necessary to maintain accuracy and prevent shots from missing the target.

Recoil Pitch and Yaw

-----------------------------------

Recoil pitch, or vertical recoil, causes the gun's muzzle to rise. Recoil Yaw, or horizontal recoil, causes the gun's barrel to move side to side. Vertical recoil is easy to control since the player simply has to pull downwards when firing. Horizontal recoil, on the other hand, can randomly pull the gun to either side and is essentially uncontrollable. The more horizontal recoil a weapon has the more difficult it will be to make follow-up shots on a target.
