Grenadier
Factions United States Army (US Army)

United States Marine Corps (USMC)

Australian Army (ANZAC)

Army Of The Republic Of Vietnam (ARVN)

With the ability to launch explosives long distances, the Grenadier is powerful, if limited in application. Although they should ideally focus on knocking out enemy Machine Gunners or Snipers, their grenades can also force enemies to disperse or pick less effective positions. Given their armament, they are best suited for ranged and indirect combat.

Gameplay Details

The Grenadier is one of the most important roles in the game, their rocket propelled grenades can be shot at long distances and taking enemy positions such as bunkers and buildings. Their M79 Grenade Launcher gives them advantage over range, and tends to instantly kill those in its blast radius. When using HE shells, it is also important to consider the range and distance between themselves and the enemy target, by ranging the weapon's iron sights or simply aiming higher. Spotting an enemy will reveal the distance in meters between the Grenadier and the target, allowing the them to range their sights to proper meter distance and making a more accurate and precise shot. These traits are also ideal when trying to take care of enemy Squad Tunnels that are in the distance.

The Grenadier is also not just limited to being explosive support, but is also a multi-purposed role. Depending on the ammo variants used, the Grenadier can use smoke shells to provide visual cover when advancing to positions, and can be shot at longer distances compared to throw-able smoke grenades. Within eight meters of the Grenadier, their HE shell will not be detonated and appear as a dud, being ineffective in close range combat; the Buckshot shells can help counter situations like that, allowing the Grenadier to shoot a Buckshot shell at enemies too close to the Grenadier.

Trivia

  • The smoke shell does not damage enemies at all
  • In real life, a Grenadier would usually carry more than 6-9 HE shells, and some M79 Grenade Launcher users would carry a M16 as a sidearm.
