Traps can be laid down by both Northern and Southern factions, though the North has access to more traps. Current traps include: Punji Stakes, Tripwire Traps, MD-82 'Toe Popper' Mines, and M18 Claymores. M18 Claymores can be used by any of the factions, while Punjis, Tripwires, and Toe Poppers are exclusive to the North. All traps placed by the enemy will glow bright red for Pointmen and Scouts and will be accompanied by a voiceline when the Pointman is within a certain distance of a trap. All mines persist after death.

Punji's resemble a small pile of dirt when placed. All Northern Riflemen can place a Punji wherever there is dirt. When stepped on, the Punji activates and instantly kills the player who stepped on it. Only one Punji can be placed per-player.

Tripwire mines are grenades tied to a stick with a tripwire attached to another stick. Much like Punjis, Tripwires must be placed on dirt. When an enemy player walks through the tripwire the grenade will immediately detonate, instantly killing the player and anyone else within the grenade's blast radius. Players can place the grenade and then the tripwire wherever they wish as long as nothing obstructs the wire itself and both stakes are on dirt and level. Tripwires are only available to Snipers and defending-team Scouts.

MD-82 mines are small, cylindrical pressure-activated mines that can be placed on any surface. When placed, the top of the mines barely rise above the surface they are placed on, making them very difficult to spot without the aid of a Pointman. When stepped on, a single click will be heard, indicating the mine has been primed. If the player steps off of the mine, the mine will then detonate, killing the player and anyone close to them. Up to 5 mines can be in the field at once per-player. These mines are only available to the Sapper class.

M18 Claymores are directional mines that require user input to detonate. Claymores must first be placed facing the desired direction, then the player must pull out the clackers and trigger the mines manually. Claymores can only be detonated by the player who placed them and cannot be destroyed by explosives or gunfire. M18s can kill players directly behind them and in a wide arc in front of them, wounding players at great distances. The player who placed them must stay within range of the mine to detonate it. Only 2 Claymores can be placed at any one time by each player and are only available to Southern Pointmen and Marksmen.
